• Measure wall to wall, not baseboard to baseboard.
• Measure the distance from a corner to windows or doors. Include any
molding around doors and windows as a part of the width of that item.
• Measure the distance from the floor to the bottom of the windows and the distance from the floor to the bottom of the window sill
• Measure the distance from floor to ceiling in several places.
• Accurately note the location of doors,
windows, electrical switches and outlets and heating or air
conditioning vents.
• If you have or plan to use soffits,
measure and record the height and depth. Note any other obstacles
which might prohibit or limit the placement of a cabinet. • If you know where the sink, stove and or
refrigerator is to be placed, note this on your drawing.
